Captain Henlee's 4th Birthday....

 For Henlee's 4th Birthday Party, we decided on a Pirate Adventure! We took some photos of him on a pirate ship! Here is Captain Henlee!!

 

Here is his invitation. I put all the details on the burnt edged paper, put sand and shells in the bottle with the paper and gave them to everyone. We even sent one in the mail!

I'll start the party explaining with all the decorations first:

This was the entrance to the party. I hung his pictures we took of him and a "WANTED" sign that read: "WANTED For stealing treasure, Captain Henlee Brady, $2,500 Reward"

The tables were meant to look like sails on the ship! I took umbrella tables for the hole in the middle and got wood sticks and stapled the cut up white sheet to it, the buckets where KFC buckets and I painted the pirate flags on black material.

Our trampoline was transformed into the Captain's Ship!! I took brown paper, white sheet for the sails and netting. The bucket was painted black and the flag was painted by me!

The kids craft table:

*They decorated wooded swords{that Sandra cut for me!}

*They decorated telescopes made from black cups.

and received eye patches and hats to complete their pirate look!

The food table, which we served fried chicken legs{made by Sandra}, veggies, cheese and crackers, hot dogs, and beans!

The backdrop was made from strips of material, hung on twine!

This is the desert table:

*Hershey's nuggets were Gold Bars

*licorice was Rope

*whoppers were Cannon Balls

*cherry slices were Bandannas

We also had Salt Water Taffy, Pirate cookies ordered by Jeana, and cupcakes that Holly made!!

One chest was for seating and the other held the gifts!

After we ate, the kids did the crafts and got pirate tattoos! They even had a sword fight!

We had a Treasure Hunt next...the pieces to the map each had a clue on them. The final clue was a real map with an X that marked the spot.

We then sang to Henlee...

He didn't even want to wait for the song to end to blow out his candles!

Then he opened all his gifts!! He was so spoiled!

Finally we had some of the pirates, WALK THE PLANK!!

Captain Henlee than sailed away on his ship, leaving behind all his shipmates! He had such a fun time and it makes every preparation worth it to see him smile!
